Education

Zenon Park community provides pre-school to Grade XII education through the delivery of register French & French-Immersion programs.


Ecole Zenon Park
is the only French-Immersion program available in the North East School Division, it is linked to all services available within that division including the alternative education program.


Ecole Notre Dame de Vertus
, a school within the provincial French school division - Scolaire Francophone de la Saskatchewan also delivers Kindergarten to Grade XII French education within Zenon Park.

One regional college system, Cumberland Regional College, services the entire region with adult and university extension education.



Health Care

The Northeast EMS’s new emergency facility in Nipawin was fully operational in the spring of 2001.  The company employs 5 paramedics, 11 EMT personnel and coordinates approximately 30 first responders.

Zenon Park has five fully trained first responders and 14 fire fighters.  The Zenon Park Fire Department equipment includes a fire engine, emergency van and heart defibrillator.

The Kelsey Trail Health Region covers Nipawin, Cumberland House, Melfort, Tisdale and Hudson Bay and encompasses a population of about 45,000 people. Hospitals at Nipawin, Tisdale and Melfort are being designated as district hospitals, providing 24hour seven-day emergency and general medicine services.

Nurse practitioner, Louise Kowal, sees patients on the 1st Monday afternoon of the month in the clinic located in the Zenon Park AFZP building.  Louise also does home visits to the Manoir on the 3rd Monday afternoon of the month. This service is provided through a cooperative effort between the Village of Zenon Park and the Kelsey Trail Health District.

La Pouponniere Co-operative Daycare Center

Philosophy

To provide a safe and happy environment to nurture the child’s social, emotional, cognitive, intellectual, creative and physical needs. This will be achieved through positive role modeling and encouragement by staff.

Our goal is to provide early quality childhood education and care for the children in attendance.

We welcome parent user input and encourage parents to get to know the child(ren)'s caregivers. By working together we will achieve the goal of promoting a quality early childhood experience for the children.

La Pouponniere Co-operative Daycare Center is a non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors, comprised mainly of parents elected each year at our annual meeting.


HOURS AND DAYS OF OPERATION

The Daycare Center is open from 8:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, except Statutory Holidays. Arrangements may be made for extended hours.


Daycare Fees Effective March 1, 2008

Infant (6 weeks – 17 months)

$4.00/hour

$25.00/day

$475.00/month

 

Toddler (18 -29 months)

$3.50/hour

$22.50/day

$425.00/month

 

 

Preschool & School Age
(30 months - 12 years)

$3.00/hour

$20.00/day

$400.00/month

 

Full Time Attendance is when the child is at the daycare for 120 hours or more per month. (consisting of either full or part days)

 

Once any child (of the immediate family) qualifies as full time attendance as defined above, a discount of 30% will be applied to each subsequent child regardless of the number of hours they attend.  Extended hours and late fees do not qualify for the family discount rate.
